Economy Electric Company

In 1937, John LaTour, Sr. began a family business of electrical contracting. His son, John LaTour, Jr., after completing his degree at Cornell University, joined the company in 1959 and continued to run the business with his mother, Sara, after his father’s death. In 1990, John LaTour, Jr. decided to spend more time doing what he loved best – boating and fishing in the Bahamas. So he sold the company to his favorite employee and coworker, Billy Wiggins Sr. In the three decades since then, Economy Electric has become once again a family business. And the business has grown. Currently, Economy Electric Company has a full compliment of service vans, bucket trucks, derrick trucks, digger machines, lifts, specialized tools, and a 10,000 square foot warehouse to service our areas of specialties.
